Courge Luffa Comestible 'Huadiansigua' (Luffa acutangula), commonly known as angled luffa or ridged gourd, is a versatile plant valued for its edible young fruits and fibrous mature gourds, which can be used as natural sponges. This variety produces elongated, pale green fruits with distinct ridges and tender white flesh that is sweet when harvested young.

Height: Up to 2-3 meters.

Species-specific cultivation instructions
Sowing: Start seeds indoors in pots from March to April; soak seeds for 24 hours before sowing to enhance germination.
Transplanting: Once seedlings have 2-3 true leaves and after the last frost, transplant outdoors with 100 cm between plants and 150 cm between rows.
Watering: Provide regular, deep watering, especially during dry periods.
Harvest: For culinary use, harvest fruits when they are 10-15 cm long; for sponges, allow fruits to mature and dry on the vine before harvesting.
Other Considerations: Provide sturdy trellising or support for vines; mulching helps retain soil moisture and suppress weeds.
