About Garden Bed Recipes

Gardening is both an art and a science, and one of the most effective ways to combine the two is through the concept of recipes for garden bed designs. The recipes are practical plans to help you maximize your space, extend your growing season, and enjoy a diverse, year-round harvest. Combining No Dig methods with sowing and transplanting techniques allows you to create a thriving urban garden easily tailored to your specific needs and preferences.

In each recipe, you will have an ingredient list paired with a growing method which includes a detailed guide from spring to autumn, outlining what to sow and transplant at each stage of the growing season.

While the recipe is more tailored for Zones 6-9, gardeners in other zones can easily adapt to suit their own climates, making it a versatile and valuable resource for all urban gardeners.

Flexible garden bed sizes

We use a 120x120 cm garden bed as the canvas. 120x120 cm is an ideal size for small to medium gardens allowing for efficient use of space, while being easy to manage. If 120cm x 120cm doesn't match your garden size you can easily adjust the garden bed recipe to either expand it for larger beds or take out parts for smaller beds.
