The Piment Jalapeño Rouge is an early, productive variety similar to the Espelette pepper. Its relatively short, rounded fruits can be consumed raw when green and immature, or cooked when fully ripe and red.

Species-specific cultivation instructions
Sowing: Sow seeds in February-March in pots with fine seed compost under heated conditions (25°C).
Transplanting: In May, transplant seedlings into deep, loose soil in a warm, sunny location, sheltered from wind, spacing plants 50 cm apart.
Watering: Regular watering, avoiding excess moisture.
Harvest: Harvest fruits as needed; they can be dried in the sun or in the oven for preservation.
Other Considerations: Regular hoeing, watering, and mulching are beneficial.
